The world of social media seems full of paradox. Time consuming to set up, complex in its scale and lack of limits, simple in its concepts.
The main thing about all of this is the ability of artists to control their own means of production -- it's possible for musicians to produce and market their musical products and own 100% of something small. So it's not mass retail, but it's much more democratic and entrepreneurial.
So, as I embark on the marketing phase of my first recorded album, I learn more and more about how to get the word out - through review sites, through sales sights like CD Baby and iTunes, through social media sites.
My main aim is to get the album heard. Onward.
